The Campaign
The Asian Summer Monsoon Chemical and Climate Impact Project (ACCLIP) was a joint effort between NASA and NCAR aimed at studying the Asian Summer Monsoon (ASM) and the effects gas and aerosol emissions have on global climate during the ASM. ACCLIP consisted of one deployment during the boreal summer of 2022 with flights based out of South Korea. A series of test flights were conducted in the summer of 2021 at Ellington Air Force Base (AFB) in Houston, TX. ACCLIP utilized NASA’s WB-57 and NCAR’s G-V aircraft, which were outfitted with several cloud probes, gas sensors, and other in-situ and remote sensing instrumentation. ACCLIP was funded through NASA's Upper Atmosphere Research Program.
