The Campaign
The Korean United States - Air Quality (KORUS-AQ) campaign focused on advancing the ability to monitor air pollution from space. KORUS-AQ had one deployment over South Korea during April, May, and June of 2016. KORUS‐AQ collected detailed measurements from aircraft, ground sites, and ships to examine the challenges and opportunities for future satellite observations of air quality. This was a joint effort between Korea’s National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) and the United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

Additional Notes
KORUS-AQ had a sister campaign, named KORUS-OC, that took place simultaneously to measure ocean color, temperature, salinity, and chemistry using instruments onboard two research ships. Data for KORUS-OC are located at the OBDAAC. Data for KORUS-AQ are located at the ASDC DAAC.
