The Campaign
The Long Island Sound Tropospheric Ozone Study (LISTOS) was a multi-agency effort focused on studying air quality around Long Island Sound. The primary data collection took place during the summer of 2018 in the Long Island area. Multiple aircraft were used to gather in situ and remotely sensed observations of aerosols and trace gases. Ground-based and balloon-borne measurements were also collected around Long Island. Several organizations, including NASA, participated in LISTOS, such as NOAA, EPA, and the Northeast States for Coordinated Air Use Management (NESCAUM).
