The Campaign
The Long Island Sound Tropospheric Ozone Study (LISTOS) was a multi-agency investigation that focused on studying air quality near and around the Long Island Sound. The main data collection for LISTOS occurred during the summer of 2018 around the Long Island area. Multiple aircraft were utilized to collect in situ and remotely sensed observations of aerosols and trace gases. Ground-based and balloon-borne observations were also collected around Long Island. Several organizations including NASA participated in LISTOS such as NOAA, EPA, and the Northeast States for Coordinated Air Use Management (NESCAUM).
