The Campaign
The RADar Definition EXperiments (RADEX) campaign focused on collecting detailed measurements of aerosols, clouds, rainfall, and snowfall, to improve the Aerosol, Cloud, and Ecosystems (ACE) algorithm development. RADEX had two deployments over the Southeastern United States and the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State in the summer of 2014 and winter of 2015. Airborne observations of clouds and precipitation were supplemented by three radars, polarimeters, microwave radiometers, and lidar. RADEX was one of the ACE Mission projects.
