The Campaign
The WB-57 Aerosol Mission (WAM) was a NASA field campaign that analyzed the chemical composition of aerosols in the upper atmosphere. WAM had a single deployment based at Ellington Field in Houston, Texas, during spring 1998. The NASA WB-57 aircraft was equipped with multiple in situ sensors, including the Particle Analysis by Laser Mass Spectrometer (PALMS), the Multiple-Angle Aerosol Spectrometer Probe (MASP), and the JPL Laser Hygrometer (JPL), to collect data on aerosol properties and meteorological parameters. Radiosonde measurements were also collected during the campaign.
