ESMR
Electronically Scanned Microwave Radiometer

The Electronically Scanned Microwave Radiometer (ESMR) is an airborne scanning microwave radiometer that measures brightness temperature at 19.35 GHz. It is nadir-mounted on the aircraft and has a 50-degree swath from nadir. ESMR has an integration time of 2 seconds and a beam width of 2.8 degrees. ESMR is typically used for airborne microwave measurements of precipitation in tropical storms.
