SMEAR
Station for Measuring Ecosystem-Atmosphere Relations

The Station for Measuring Ecosystem-Atmosphere Relations (SMEAR) is a network of research stations across northern Europe run by the University of Helsinki. Each station has various in situ instruments mounted on flux towers to collect data on temperature, humidity, wind direction and speed, radiation, and aerosols. Measurements are taken daily with a typical sampling frequency of 1 minute.
