TILDAS
Tunable Infrared Laser Direct Absorption Spectrometer

The Tunable Infrared Laser Direct Absorption Spectrometer (TILDAS) is an in situ spectrometer developed by Aerodyne Research. It measures gas concentrations by determining how much light the species absorbs at a specific wavelength. TILDAS is used to detect various trace gases, including methane, nitrous oxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, formaldehyde, and ammonia. The laser operates within the mid-infrared spectrum and is tuned to a specific wavelength based on the target species. It provides measurements at a data rate of up to 10 Hz. TILDAS can be deployed on aircraft, ships, trucks, and other ground-based platforms.
