Overview

The ALTUS II is an uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) built by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. It can reach an altitude of up to 60,000 ft, fly for approximately 24 hours, and carry a payload of about 330 lbs. Its slow speed and extended flight time make it perfect for research missions that study thunderstorms.
