Overview

The Dornier 228 is a high-wing, twin-engine turboprop aircraft built by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and RUAG Aerospace. The DO-228 can carry payloads of up to approximately 5,200 lbs and has a maximum flight altitude of about 28,000 ft. It has been used for remote sensing and atmospheric research.
