Overview The Dassault Falcon 20-E5 is a twin-engine jet manufactured by Dassault. The Falcon has a maximum flight duration of up to five hours and can operate at altitudes up to 41,000 ft. It has been modified to allow for different sensors or particle probes to be utilized for various research missions. The Falcon can support up to 4,325 lbs of payload, 2 pilots, and an 8 to 14-person crew.

Cloud Particle Imager (CPI) The Cloud Particle Imager (CPI) is an airborne imager manufactured by SPEC Inc. CPI collects high-resolution (2.3 μm pixel size) images of cloud particles that pass through its sample volume. It uses a charge-coupled device (CCD) camera that operates at 810 nm to record images and can take up to 74 frames per second with a refresh rate of 40 Hz. The imagery from CPI can be used to derive microphysical properties such as particle size and habit.

GeoTASO measures nadir backscattered solar radiation in the ultraviolet (290-400 nm) and visible (415-695 nm) wavelengths. These measurements can be used to determine aerosols and trace gases in the atmosphere such as ozone, formaldehyde, and nitrogen dioxide. GeoTASO has a spatial resolution of about 250 m x 250 m and has an integration time of 0.25 s.
