Overview

The Research Vessel Le Suroît is a France-based multipurpose ship operated by the oceanographic institution Ifremer. Le Suroît is able to accommodate thirty-six people, including officers, scientists, and other crew members. Inside the vessel are both wet and dry labs, as well as radioactive isotope work areas. Majority of the vessel’s ventures include bathymetric and seismic research while conducting coring, dredging, and trawling tasks. The maximum cruising speed of Le Suroît is 10 knots.
