Overview

The Proteus is a twin-turbofan, high-altitude jet owned and operated by Scaled Composites. The aircraft can fly autonomously as an uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) or be piloted. Proteus has been used for various missions including reconnaissance, atmospheric research, and commercial imaging. It can reach altitudes over 50,000 ft and fly up to 18 hours depending on payload weight.
