Overview
The Quicksilver Model MXLI is an ultralight aircraft owned by Quicksilver Aircraft. It is configured with a 45-horsepower engine, has 3-axis control surfaces for adequate stability during turbulent weather, can carry up to 125 kilograms, and allows for a single passenger. During the OTTER campaign, the aircraft was equipped with instruments that provided low-altitude reflectance and video records of research sites, allowing for ground measurements to be scaled to satellite observations.
