Overview
The Surface Wave Instrument Float with Tracking (SWIFT) is a drifter developed by the Applied Physics Lab at the University of Washington. SWIFT drifters are designed to collect measurements of turbulence and other ocean surface properties in a wave-following reference frame. They can be deployed for up to 60 days and have the capability to be deployed in the Arctic and extreme wave conditions.
