Overview

The R/V Thalassa is an oceanographic research vessel owned and operated by the Institut Français de Recherche pour l’Exploitation de la Mer (IFREMER). It measures 75 meters long and features 120 square meters of laboratory space, meteorological and oceanographic sensors, and fishery storage, making it well-suited for large-scale fisheries research. Typical research voyages can last up to 60 days at an average speed of 11 knots and can support up to 25 crew members, along with 25 scientists and technicians.
